Tables were hosted by members of the Adult Team Ministry and Outreach Ministry Committees and decorated according to various themes and holidays of the months of the year. Everyone enjoyed birthday cake and ice cream and great fellowship around the birthday tables. There was a special appearance by "Elvis" (Joyce Conner) who presented her Las Vegas stage show for the group. There was also an appearance by Martha Washington (Dehlia Carver) representing her husband George at July's patriotic table. Other entertainment included some favorite party dances such as the Electric Slide, the Hokey Pokey, the Limbo and of course the Chicken Dance. 67 "sweat pants" were brought by those attending as our "birthday presents" for the children of Hall-Woodward Elementary School. Carol Hastings presented the new mission theme for 2010. Prayers were lifted up for the people of Haiti and those struggling with the devastation from the earthquake. The birthday party was a fun way to kick off the new year and celebrate our birthdays with our congregation.
