Dinner for Eight
A few months ago there was an opportunity to sign up for dinner groups within our church family. These sign-ups gave three opportunities to share a meal once a month for a specified amount of time.

You have another opportunity for the months of August through November to join another Dinner for Eight group. You can sign up in one of three ways. The first group will go out to a restaurant once a month. The second group will eat at a specified home each month with the members bringing food. The third group will be a Sunday Lunch Brunch one Sunday a month. The sign-up sheets are in the Commons area.

One Worship Service
First Fruits (8:30 a.m.) and our 10:55 a.m. service combining and worshipping at 10:55 a.m. on Sunday, August 31st. Please mark your calendars!

Update From the Trustees
The windows are on order and installation is set for the first week in August. With the rising cost of building materials and the addition of the door units, we are looking at an increase from the original quote from a year ago. The approximate cost of a window is $1,000 and a door unit cost $3,900. To date we have raised $29,444 towards this project. We have about $12,000 more to raise. Hopefully we can reach this goal before we get the bill. Please prayerfully consider a donation toward this project and please mark your donation as Building Fund/Windows/Doors.

A Gathering of the Laity
The Gathering of the Laity is the only evangelistic outreach program sponsored by the Council on Laity of the Western North Carolina conference of The United Methodist Church. This event is August 15th, 16th, and 17th at Lake Junaluska. Registration fee is $15.00 per person.

The featured speakers for the Gathering include Dr. John Ed Mathison of Frazer Memorial United Methodist Church, Dr. Maxie Dunnam who is president of Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky and Angela Pleasants who is serving Central United Methodist Church in the Charlotte District.

Registration forms are available on the bulletin board in the Commons area 0or in the church office.
