Sedge Garden United Methodist Church

Mission Molly says" Yes We Can in 2010!!!"

The Out Reach TEAM  always puts God first with mission projects that impact the lives of people less fortunate in our community and around the world. Our missions in action will remind everyone that the Bible says in Ephesians 3:20 "With God's power working in us, God can do much, much more than anything we can ask or imagine."

2010 will have a monthly mission tree and a “Mission in Action” with the emphasis on the ACTION. Look each month for your chance to make a difference-there will be opportunities to fit your interest and time schedule.

Remember:

“Christ has no body on earth but yours;

No hands but yours; No feet but yours.

Yours are the eyes through which Christ’s compassion

for the world shines,

Yours are the feet with which Christ uses to go about doing Good,

Yours are the hands with which Christ uses to Bless

All the people.”

April Mission Project

Wilderness Trail (Take a Hike)

Wilderness Trail is a backpacking ministry for youth and adults. It's process is based on experiential learning and the belief that often faith is "caught more than taught."  Through our events, hikers are encouraged to step out of their comfort zones and experience the Christian journey at a deeper level.
The ministry is growing fast and we need to build more facilities to keep up with the demand. "Take A Hike" is a walk-a thon (hike-a-thon) fundraiser to help fund the construction of two staff cabins and a new bath house at our property. Events are taking place in Asheville, NC, Tampa, FL, and many other towns across the southeast. On Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 9:00am, we're having our own "Take A Hike" at Salem Lake. Please join one of the teams, sponsor one of the hikers, or just make a gift. All gifts are tax deductible.

This need for dog food is in addition to the regular need of towels, blankets, sheets, cat litter,, cages, beds leashes, collars, animal toys and monetary donations. Please place your items in the commons area, and designate your monetary donations as "animals". Thank you for helping God's animals.

June Mission Project

Our June Mission Project will support Pastor Patricia and Barry's mission trip to Kenya. We will collect school supplies such as pens, pencils, colored pencils, and other school supplies that children use in school. Please don't bring notebook paper or books, as the weight of these supplies are too costly for shipping. There is also a need for children's bathing suits. Monetary donations will be accepted to purchase items that are not donated and also for a monetary donation to the school in Kenya from our congregation. Monetary donations can be marked "Kenya School". Place your donated items on the table in the Commons Area.

Let us show our support for Pastor Patricia and Barry as they travel as our missionaries from Sedge Garden UMC on this trip. Please keep them in your prayers along with the others that will be traveling with them.
